Payday 2 is a cooperative heist game that allows players to play with up to 3 other players in order to successfully pull off various heists. The game revolves around making specific builds so that you and your team can choose the way that you want to play.
The game can be played all by your lonesome but it is way more fun when playing with other players. If none of your friends are interested in playing the game then you can always find other players through matchmaking apps so that you can explore the game to the fullest.
That being said, the game gives you a lot of options in terms of selecting how you want to play so it can be difficult to decide which weapons, perks, and armor suit your style of playing.
Every combination that you use will affect the way the game plays out and will determine how you react to what happens in the game. Experienced players of the game will know that your loadout makes a huge difference in every heist that you take part in.
One of the aspects of the game is stealth and using a stealth build can benefit you greatly because it can help you avoid a lot of conflicts and thus ensure that you get out of the heist successfully. So here are some of the stealth builds that you can make in Payday 2.
We’ll go through from the best to the not-so-effective builds and how easy they are to make. In each of the builds, we are going to discuss weapons, perk deck, skills, deployables, and armor. We hope you enjoy our guide on the [TOP 5] Best Stealth Builds – Payday 2!
Advanced Payday 2 Stealth Build
This is one of the best payday 2 stealth builds in the game. It is often used by high-level players in order to get through advanced heists quickly and efficiently.
This can be a tough build to make but it works extremely well and is definitely worth the effort that you put into it. Here is the stuff that you’re going to need for this:
The primary weapon that you’re going to need for this build is the Cavity 9mm which is a semi-automatic rifle that was introduced with The Golden Grin Casino Heist DLC. The gun is really good for a stealth player because of a singular reason, it has the highest concealment of all the weapons.
It does have a high recoil though so you’re going to want o to equip mods that reduce that. You’ll also want to have a suppressor on it so that you can get away with shooting it. One thing to note about this weapon is that you’ll need the DLC in order to access the weapon.
The Cavity does have some downsides such as having a high recoil and only having a semi-automatic firing mode but those things matter less when making a stealth build because you’ll want to pick your shots when playing stealthily.
The secondary weapon that you’ll want with you is the Judge Shotgun. It might seem silly to take a shotgun as your secondary in a stealth build but it has incredible effectiveness with very high concealability. The weapon itself is a community item so you can get it by following the Payday 2 community on Steam.
It is still an expensive shotgun but it is definitely worth the investment because it is one of the best shotguns in the game. The weapon is amazing because of its high damage, great ammo capacity, and has a really fast reload speed. The weapon only falls short in ammo pickup and recoil but that is to be expected of a secondary shotgun.
The perk deck that you want to focus on is a maxed-out Burglar deck because of the unique perks that you can get. Using the burglar deck you can get a bunch of useful skills such as Bag of Tricks and Luck of the Irish which make bagging bodies and lockpicking better. This perk deck is overall good for stealth play because it is just tailored for that.
The main skill tree that you want to focus on is the Ghost one. There are a bunch of useful skills in that such as ECM Specialist, Parkour, and Low Blow. You’re also going to want to Ace most of the skills in this tree because it will help you deal with situations stealthily really quickly.
The primary deployable that you’ll want for this build is the ECM and the secondary deployable should be the body bag case.
To blend in and have maximum stealth you should use the two-piece suit which will raise less suspicion.
Intermediate Payday 2 Stealth Build
With Payday 2 having so many options for a way to play it, it seems only natural that there are other builds suitable for stealth. This build is less suited for stealth but it is still really decent. Some of the weapons are different in this one as well as the perk deck and skills.
Another great primary to use for a stealth build is the CAR-4. It is an incredibly versatile weapon that can be acquired early on in the game. The gun can be used for a lot of builds because every aspect of it can be modded to your specification.
The CAR-4 also has high concealment which makes it a great companion for completing heists stealthily. The reason why the CAR-4 is inferior to the Cavity is that it doesn’t do as much damage but that can be fixed by modding it. The CAR-4 is better than the Cavity in one aspect, you don’t need DLC to get it. It is a base game weapon.
For the secondary weapon, you can use the Bernetti-9. The Bernetti-9 is one of the all-rounder weapons, just like the CAR-4 as it can be modded to suit a variety of play styles. For a stealth build, you’re going to want to outfit it with a suppressor as well as mods that increase its ammo capacity and overall damage.
The perk deck that you can use for this build is the Hacker one. That deck is extremely powerful because it allows you to carry a pocket ECM which is an incredibly useful tool to have.
You can use it to remotely access cameras so that you can create windows of opportunity in order to move through areas unseen. It can save your life when in tough situations so keep it in mind when making your build.
Since you’re going to be using the Hacker set up with this build, it would be wise to focus on skills in the Technician tree. Those skills can help you out a lot with detecting different security measures and dealing with them appropriately.
The Jack of All Trades and Surefire skills are particularly useful as they can help you get rid of enemies faster, carry more ammo, carry more deployables, and use those deployables much faster.
The deployables for this one should be the ECM as primary and body bag case as a secondary so that you can remain undetected. You could also go with a trip mine if you want to cover areas on a large map.
For the armor, you can choose to go with a Lightweight Ballistic Vest which although has less concealment than a two-piece suit, will offer you more protection.
Beginner Stealth Build for Payday 2
When you’re starting off in the game you won’t be able to get the best gear for two reasons. The first is that it won’t be unlocked and the second is that even if it was unlocked you wouldn’t be able to afford it.
That is why this particular stealth build focuses on items that you have access to early on and won’t have to grind much in order to get. The gear mentioned below is going to be used until you can get an upgrade but it will still work as a stealth build.
The really decent stealth primary that you’ll be able to unlock really early on is the CAR-4. It has been mentioned in this article before which is a testament to this gun’s adaptability. It is an incredibly versatile tool that can carry you through any situation and given that you unlock it at level 4 makes it all the better.
The secondary that you could use with this build is the Chimano 88. You can get the weapon when you hit level 2. It has good concealment and good damage making it an excellent starter weapon to invest in. It is also an all-rounder so you can take it with you even if you’re not going for a stealth run.
The perk deck that you can use with this build is the Infiltrator. This perk deck will allow you to deal with enemies quickly, quietly, and without taking too much damage.
This build focuses on taking out enemies without a hassle so you’re going to want to focus on Mastermind and specializing in the Controller sub-tree. That will help you keep everything under control while you manage the heist with ease.
The deployables that you can use with this build are the armor bag as a primary and the trip mine as a secondary.
The best concealment armor in the game is the two-piece suit which works very well with this build. With the skills and the deployables that you have, you can survive very easily with just the two-piece suit.
Ninja Stealth Build for Payday 2
This build is definitely not the most effective but it is really fun to play. This build focuses on being a literal ninja and the weapons and perk deck will show you how.
The primary weapon that you’re going to want for this is the Plainsrider Bow. The weapon is actually really decent and with it, you don’t have to worry about ammo.
When you shoot the bow you can just go and pick up your arrows making it so that you will never run out of them. The bow can be a little hard to get used to and it definitely has a learning curve but if you master it you can have a lot of fun with it.
The secondary weapon that you can equip with your main bow is the Pistol Crossbow. This weapon is actually a really decent secondary even if you disregard the stealth aspect.
It can be outfitted with a variety of bolts including poison and explosives. The base bolts are also really good because they will take out regular enemies with one headshot.
If you really want to play this game as a badass bow-wielding ninja then you have to go with the Rogue perk deck. It will allow you to dodge at an unprecedented rate while dealing more damage to enemy armor.
As for which skills you should go for, the Ghost skill set is pretty incredible. It will allow you to dodge even more and make it so that you are harder to hit than ever. As I said, this is a very fun build to play around with because you can literally play as an unseen entity that can take out people with swiftly loosened arrows.
For the deployables, you should bring the ECM as your primary and the body bag case as your secondary to ensure discreet removal of bodies.
For the armor, you can opt for the two-piece suit because nothing looks cooler than a suit-wearing bow-wielding heist mastermind.
Hopefully, you’ll like the builds mentioned in this article but don’t forget to try stuff out on your own. Stealth can be done in a variety of ways so make sure to explore all the options that you have at your disposal and make most of the choices given to you.
